Privacy Policy

This page will explain what personal data I collect and what happens with your personal data. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the collection or storage of your personal data. You can contact me directly using any of the contact forms within this site or using my direct email address at steve@exploreandthrive.net.

What data is collected?

I will collect as little data as possible, only what is needed for us to work together. Depending on what we discuss during your initial consultation I may ask for the details of your doctor or your next of kin for your safety. It may be important for me to collect your email address, postal address, age, gender and telephone number as well.

What will happen with your data?

Your initial contact will provide me with your email address. I may store that initial email and follow up emails for our records whilst we work together. Your details will not be passed on to any third parties unless it is for therapeutic reasons which we have discussed. For example we may identify another service that you could benefit from during the course of our work, with your permission I will share your details with that service in the referral process. I do not use mailing lists and will only email you directly.

I will make notes on our appointments, partly to ensure you get the best out of therapy and also for my own reflections on what next steps may be best for you. No identifiable data will be used within the recording or storage of these notes. All notes will be stored securely under coded client identification numbers.

Your rights

You have a number of rights under the data protection law that it is important for you to be aware of:

RIGHT OF ACCESS: You can request a copy of any personal data that I hold about you simply by contacting me directly

RIGHT OF RECTIFICATION: If you notice that any data I hold about you is incorrect you can ask me to amend it

RIGHT OF ERASURE: You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time and I will do so as long as there is no legitimate reason to keep the data

RIGHT TO RESTRICT PROCESSING: At any time you can ask that your data is no longer processed and I will stop doing so

RIGHT TO OBJECT: You are entitled to object to the use of your personal data at any time

RIGHT TO DATA PORTABILITY: If for any reason you would like me to share your information with a third party I am more than happy to do so
